Sean Carney’s Blues For A Cure “Spring Show” 2016 in memory of Gary Chasin pays tribute to a great supporter of Blues For A Cure and the central Ohio community at large. This is our Sixth annual event featuring local musicians and International Blues Challenge champions.
This year’s star studded lineup performing with our own International Blues Challenge Champion (IBC 2007), Sean Carney, includes IBC 2012 guitar champion Bart Walker, IBC 2015 guitar champion Noah Wotherspoon and 2006 Guitar Center Guitarmageddon “King of the Blues” national champion, and new lead guitar player for Jon Bon Jovi, Matt O’Ree. We’ve also just added teen age guitar prodigy Sadie Johnson who resides in Marietta, Ohio. In addition, we will be joined on piano and organ by 2014 IBC finalist Wendy DeWitt from San Francisco, California. Opening act will be Columbus’s Innervision who just placed second at the 2016 IBC Solo Duo competition with Sam Shepherd garnering the Lee Oskar best harmonica player award.
Proceeds from this charity event support the Heather Pick Music Program at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Canter – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute and Stefanie Spielman Comprehensive Breast Cancer Center.
We are thrilled to be hosting our event at another great Woodland’s Productions venues, Park Street Saloon at 525 N. Park Street, Columbus, OH.
