Sean Carney’s Blues For A Cure Columbus 2018 in memory of Joe “Joe Show” Pasternak, pays tribute to a great supporter of Blues For A Cure and the central Ohio community at large. This is our 7th Columbus event featuring local musicians and International Blues Challenge champions, and hosted by Johnny DiLoretto of WCBE 90.5.
This year’s lineup includes three International Blues Challenge (IBC) guitar champions: Columbus’s own Sean Carney (2007), Noah Wotherspoon (2015) and headlining, IBC Band Champions, JP Soars and The Red Hots (2009). Sitting in will be another stellar Columbus musician, Linda Dachtyl on B3. Opening act will be Columbus’s InnerVision who placed second at the 2016 IBC Solo Duo competition with Sam Shepherd garnering the Lee Oskar best harmonica player award.
Proceeds from this charity event support the Heather Pick Music Program at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute and Stefanie Spielman Comprehensive Breast Cancer Center. Kevin Burchett will be our charity auctioneer and will feature a Buddy Guy autographed Fender Strat.
